We are seeking a skilled Lessons Learned Researcher to join our dynamic team within the Defense, Security, and Justice sector of the Government and Public Services (GPS) industry. As a Lessons Learned Researcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and security of written materials that contribute to the dissemination of critical intelligence information. By joining our team, you will play a vital role in making an impact for our clients and the people they serve through our growth strategy, enhanced user experiences, and engagement through the entire lifecycle of customers' interactions with the public sector.

The Lessons Learned Researcher works independently, or within small teams, to produce studies requested government officials. Performs interviews, conducts research, and compiles relevant documentation with the aim of capturing insights and observations on a wide array of topics to include operations, strategic issues, and intra-agency mission enablers. Compiles and analyzes relevant findings. Writes publications to be disseminated to a wide audience.

Work you'll do

  • Provide guidance and direction on a day-to-day basis for research study writing

  • Foster and manage the relationships between the client and the engagement team through publication best practices

  • Deliver an in-depth experience skill set of editing written work for grammar, style, and technical accuracy

  • Showcase your advanced knowledge of research principles and presentation, including best practices for writing and communications planning

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience reviewing and editing sourcing for finished intelligence

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in the field of communications, creative writing, journalism, public relations, or something similar

  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required Security Clearance for this role. Top Secret (TS/SCI) security clearance with Polygraph is required for this role

  • Ability to travel 20 - 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

  • Ability to work in Chantilly, VA on a regular basis

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred:

  • 10+ years of experience reviewing finished intelligence products as an author, editor, or manager

  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Word, including Track Changes, formatting, and layout functions

  • Expertise in using, formatting, and designing PDF files

  • Possess knowledge of production methodology for publishing products in electronic format, including file organization, version control, and documenting next steps and instructions.

  • Have demonstrated the ability to successfully manage concurrent projects to completion and to adjust priorities as mission needs change

  • Ability to conceptualize, write, and edit persuasive copy for cross-channel campaign assets

  • Demonstrated success in a service delivery environment (consulting), preferably for software, analytics, and/or SaaS-based products

  • Have demonstrated the ability to learn and apply new skills independently

  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
