Salvation Army Marketing and Communications Intern in Roseville, Minnesota

Position Summary The Marketing and Communications Intern assists the marketing department in communications, analytics, and special events. The Intern will develop practical skills in communications, campaign reporting, and event planning. They will also gain experience in a large professional, non-profit setting while working in a small, fast paced team. This is a paid position. $15.00/hour, 15-20 hours per week 2445 Prior Ave N, Roseville, MN 55113 Essential Functions (approximate time spent) * Engage external constituents by providing support throughout the event process (30%). * Assist with the creation and production of banners, signage, and marketing materials (20%). * Assist with planning, publicity, and execution of events (e.g., Down for the Challenge, Christmas Kettle Campaign) (30%). * Prepare detailed reporting on events, fundraising goals, and website traffic (10%). * Assist with daily administrative duties utilizing a project management system (10%). Education and Experience * Marketing/Communications course work or relevant degree required. * Have ability to work as part of a team, yet self-motivated and independent. * Must pass background checks. * Valid driver's license and meet MVR requirements, preferred. Competencies * Willing to support and promote the philosophy, goals, and mission of The Salvation Army. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * Dependable, reliable, detail oriented with the ability to multi-task. * Effective team player, yet self-motivated and independent. * Competency with PC, Microsoft Office, databases, and standard office equipment required. Working Conditions * Mostly sedentary work, sitting for long periods of time and working on a computer. * Professional environment; eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. * Must be able to communicate clearly in English, and work in person or on the phone. * Must be able to occasionally lift 30 pounds. * Standard business hours with occasional evenings and weekends.
