Position Summary: Mayo Clinic is seeking a skilled Senior IT Automation Tester to assist with the implementation of the Epic electronic medical record and revenue cycle system.

We have implemented the first phase of the project and need a Senior Automation Tester to enhance our testing for the upcoming phases.

The individual will be responsible for building & developing the test automation strategy, automation framework, and automation reporting metrics.

The person will need to demonstrate the ability to evaluate the functional and non-functional requirements for testability.

In addition candidates must be able to determine the suitability of test cases and use cases for automation.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading development of automated test scenarios for function, integration, and acceptance testing.

The following skills and experiences are preferred:

  • 5 years experience in Test Automation tools like UFT/Selenium

  • 5 years experience testing Citrix based applications

  • 3 years test automation experience with Epic EMR

  • Experience using large volumes of data for script creation and execution

  • Strong understanding of a coding language(.Net & VB preferred)

  • Subject matter expert in: Complex automation scripting and Requirements analysis

  • Innovated problem solver

  • Experience creating test automation frameworks from scratch

  • Excellent client interaction and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of testing processes, standards, and best practices

Responsibilities: This position provides software quality assurance services for projects and systems.

Oversees the maturation of a work unit(s) development methodologies and confirms regulatory compliance as it applies to software support for the business areas served.

Defines and analyzes product validation for new and/or modified applications.

Investigates operational and process problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.

Guides and directs lower level personnel on the set up and performance of quality controls.

Devises and applies quality controls for in-house and vended products.

Designs advanced software automation framework and test scripts that are used by the system testers.

The design must be capable of functioning across system environments and interfaces.

Automation Developer must be capable of designing and implementing custom APIs between tools.

Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science degree and at least 3 years of experience in software or test automation development, with 1 year of demonstrated technical experience; or an Associate’s degree and at least 8 years of professional experience in software or test automation development, with 1 year of demonstrated technical experience.

Knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems.

Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Java.

Knowledge of scripting languages such as VB Script, Perl, Python, TCL.

Proficient in test management and automation tools [Quality Center, QTP, LoadRunner, BPT].

Knowledge of SDM tools desired (e.g., IBM Rational tools: ClearQuest, ClearCase, Requisite Pro, Build Forge).

Additional Qualifications: Preference of five (5) years of experience in IT Automation Test Development and/or related functional knowledge and skills in:

Experienced in analyzing and advising on software development documentation techniques.

Experienced in analyzing and advising for optimum usage of common software documentation, problem management and version management tools as they apply to test execution and management.

Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycles as they relates to product verification and validation.

Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance practices and demonstrated effort to implement suitable practices.

In depth understanding of software quality assurance practices and methodologies required.

Knowledge of relational databases.

Knowledge of tool APIs and experience in building tool integrations.

Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures across fields of specialization (software development, quality assurance, testing, auditing, configuration management, regulatory affairs) to complete difficult assignments.

Must possess strong analytical skills, excellent documentation skills and an ability to interact with people of all levels.

Must be self-directed and make decisions appropriate for the business and technical environment.

Able to gain an understanding of the applicable systems, industry and regulatory practices and procedures as they relate to product risk assessment.

License or Certification: Certification and/or training in quality or testing certification.

e.g., ISO Service Management, CSTP, or ITIL desired.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.

The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $3,127, based on a full-time position.

Hours/Pay Period: Full Time

Schedule Details: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m.

  • 5:00 p.m.

May be required to provide 24/7 on-call support.

Weekend Schedule: May be required to provide 24/7 on-call support.
