Responsibilities

  • Implement efficient patterns to call dependent services, leverage a distributed cache like Redis.

  • Implement high availability, resiliency patterns like Circuit Breaker, Retry, Fallback, Bulkhead Isolation, Throttling among others.

  • Own and operate services of massive scale.

  • Reuse existing open-source libraries and build new libraries of services and best practices for other teams to leverage.

  • Perform live site/dev-ops engineering for services with monitoring, dashboards, and troubleshooting guides.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience working on large scale cloud applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Develop test plans/cases, conditions, and scenarios in support of ongoing applications and infrastructure. 

  • Demonstrated working knowledge on cloud computing / Azure / AWS / GCP / Kubernetes.

  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum/Lean Methodology.

  • Evaluate current services and drive performance, availability, and supportability improvements.

  • Drive increased efficiencies through automation and reduction in operational expenditure.

  • Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment.

  • Analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. 

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
