About the Opportunity

This position will report to the Director, Labor/Employee Relations & Corporate Relations, and can be located at any location in the FE service territory. The Administrative Technician is part of the HR Organizational Management team which is responsible for maintaining and updating both organizational structures and managing employee & contractor data within Empower. This position will utilize the Empower system to validate and approve changes to positions, jobs, departments, as well as process transfers, separations and other related HR organizational changes.  This position ensures all changes are accurate and completed within the regulatory and SOX requirements. This position will also perform basic employee and organizational data changes, assist with keying reorganizations, and troubleshoot and resolve issues. Responsibilities include: Maintain HR Core and Org data changes, for employees, contractors, and retirees. Update employee data timely and accurately as needed. Key organizational changes and provide guidance on practices and policies. Apply HR Data Governance practices to ensure data consistency and integrity. Ensure all compliance policies are followed for FERC, CIP and SOX. Execute HR Core reports as needed/requested Demonstrate a willingness to question established procedures and processes. Take initiative to solve problems and bring issues to closure. Demonstrate sound customer service. Perform a variety of technical administrative assignments requiring initiative, judgment and well- developed knowledge and skills. Maintain a high degree of condentiality on projects and employee-related information. Qualifications include: High school diploma or GED required.  Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline preferred. Minimum 2-7 years of related work experience is required. Related work experience includes invoice processing, customer service, and administrative support. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Pass the Company's EEI Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) test. Able to follow established practices, procedures, and instructions, and produce technical administrative work products in a thorough, timely and accurate manner. Demonstrate a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results and strengthen existing relationships. Able to model active learning through continuing to develop breadth of knowledge, skills, and perspective. Flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with ability to independently prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work in pressure situations. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to be friendly, courteous, helpful towards internal and external customers. Demonstrated experience making recommendations for process improvements when appropriate. Must be detailed oriented to ensure accurate HR data. Experience handling condential information.
