Description The Healthcare/NHS company Robert Half currently has long-term contract / temporary opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant who enjoys taking on new challenges and thrives in a fast-paced environment. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Major responsibilities

  • An endless desire to improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Operate with business partners to create compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls and provide support on special requests

  • Create analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

  • Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Other projects as necessary

  • Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP Requirements - Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions

  • Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience

  • Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • This position is for candidates with financial reporting systems proficiency

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports

  • Efficient in ERP systems

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are highly desired

  • Foundational knowledge in Budget Processes

  • Journal Entry Preparation experience

  • General ledger experience

  • Journal entries experience preferred

  • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

  • Demonstrated skills in interacting effectively, both verbally and in writing, with functional managers

  • Strong organization skills

  • SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
