Life Fitness Manufacturing Engineer III in Ramsey, Minnesota

*Join us as we empower the world to work out, creating healthier lives together.* *About the Opportunity:* JOB PURPOSE: Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in a manufacturing industry by performing the duties below. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides engineering support by developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and planning regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production methods.
  • Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Communicates with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Analyzes direct and indirect labor, line balancing, flow analysis and process optimization.
  • Develops PFMEA's, budgets, line/facility layouts, process sheets, capacity analyses, make/buy analyses.
  • Utilizes LSS tools and leads teams to identify and eliminate waste.
  • Optimizes production capabilities through capital equipment justification and acquisition.
  • Researches and analyzes new technologies to improve manufacturing processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution (or equivalent)
  • Ten (10) years of engineering experience in a multi-disciplined manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to create, design, and interpret engineering drawings

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with powder coating
  • Experience in 3D modeling (Solidworks preferred)
