NYU Langone Health System Psychiatrist Assisted Outpatient Treatment Program, NYC Department of Health and in Queens, New York

Psychiatry Position (FT or PT-60%): Assisted Outpatient Treatment Program, NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

The NYC Assisted Outpatient Treatment Program promotes engagement in services for individuals with a history of multiple hospitalizations or harm to self or others due to non-adherence to treatment. It does this through monitoring the adherence of both the individual and their provider(s) to a civil court ordered care coordination/treatment plan. Psychiatrists work under the direction of a borough AOT medical director as part of a multidisciplinary team. The available positions are on the Brooklyn/Staten Island AOT Team but are based at the DOHMH offices in Long Island City, Queens. Duties include reviewing records and examining individuals to determine need for initial or ongoing AOT, documenting examinations, and testifying in court as well as serving as a consultant to non-medical team members. Some court hearings are currently held in person at Brooklyn or Staten Island supreme court and some are remote. Examinations are currently held remotely. A hybrid (up to 2 days a week remote) work schedule is available. Salary and benefits are provided through the NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

Psychiatry Board Certification is strongly preferred
