Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community Prep Cook - Part-time in Quarryville, Pennsylvania

This Part-Time Prep / Cook position is an essential member of our Supportive Living Dining Services Team. This role preps and packages items for sale in our Café.  This position also has a crucial role every other weekend as the Line Cook.

          Weekday - 5-6 hours a day Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with flexibility as to the morning start time          

Every other weekend as Line Cook from 10:00am - 6:30pm

ONLY EVERY OTHER WEEKEND

To be successful in this position, you must be a focused and creative individual who can produce quantities of food, according to specifications and in a timely manner.

An ideal candidate will possess hospitality experience and a passion for food, both quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Follow recipes, menu notes and production sheets accurately to prepare the correct amount of each item daily.

  • Prepare, season, and cook meals for our Supportive Living residents.

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen while always adhering to food safety requirements.

  • Ensure meals are ready at the specified times and test foods being cooked for proper, flavor, temperature, seasoning etc.

  • Present food using proper plating techniques.

  • Assist executive chef and other cooks with prep and special functions.

  • Assist in training new team members.

    Requirements:

  • Prior culinary experience/training a PLUS

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a food service hospitality environment required.

  • Ability to communicate with residents, co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.

  • Time management and attention to detail a MUST.

  • Serv-Safe Certification a plus, or willingness to get certification.

  • Able to work in a team-oriented environment and under fast-paced conditions

  • Most importantly, this position requires accuracy, dependability, initiative, and the desire to be a part of a team whose main focus is to bring our mission to life for our team and residents:
