Amazon Operations Support Lead, Amazon Freight in Prague, Czech Republic

Description

As an Operations Support Lead, you will work closely with multiple stakeholders across Amazon, from Operational teams who are fulfilling customer orders to Retail teams and everything in between.

You will help us to direct and support a team whose role it is to safely and efficiently create orders and transport customer shipments across the UK and Europe. You will be responsible for customer outcomes delivered via a multi-contact centre environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Hire, develop, and lead a team of Operational Support Associates, offering mentorship and support to your team

  • Identify and suggest service enhancements in order to continuously improve the customer offering.

  • Partner with teams to advise on and manage operational challenges

A day in the life

Leading a team of associates to deliver best-in-class service to our customers, while continuously seeking ways to improve our service. You’ll spend time resolving temporary issues and looking at the bigger picture to drive Amazon towards achieving new objectives. This role is both proactive and reactive, and you’ll have the opportunity to help forecast and plan for new projects.

Amazon Freight is a transportation service provider for external shippers that uses the logistics network we built for Amazon to deliver freight safely, on time and at competitive costs. We offer shippers access to the same network of carriers, technology infrastructure and tools that Amazon uses to move thousands of loads daily. Businesses of all sizes have access to the costs and levels of service of one of the largest shippers in the world. Amazon Freight spins Amazon’s broader flywheel by helping minimize empty miles by bringing in freight that flows complementary to our existing network.

Amazon Freight Operations (AF Ops) is the Pan-European team that handles Amazon Freight's Shipper Support and Transportation Execution. We are responsible for planning and scheduling the transport orders placed by our customers (Shippers), and providing them with support at each step of their journey. We play a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon Freight's European transportation network and have a direct impact on Shipper Experience.

Basic Qualifications

  • A degree

  • Relevant experience in managing or leading teams

  • Relevant Experience in program or project management

  • Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership

  • Advanced proficiency in written and verbal German

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a logistical working environment

  • Experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environmen

  • Relevant Experience in SQL
