Job Description: Substitute School NursePosition Title: Substitute School NurseLocation: Poughkeepsie, New YorkJob Type: TemporaryOverview: Corporate Hiring Solutions is seeking dedicated and qualified Substitute School Nurses to provide comprehensive healthcare services to students within designated institutions. The Substitute School Nurse will step in to fill the roles of full-time school nurses as needed, ensuring the health and well-being of students.Key Responsibilities:Health Services Delivery: Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, chronic disease management, and emergency care.Health Assessments: Conduct assessments, formulate nursing diagnoses, and develop individualized care plans.Special Needs Support: Implement care plans for students with special needs and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Health Screenings: Perform New York State-required grade level physicals, vision, hearing, and body mass index screenings.Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications to students, following State Education Department guidelines.Health Records Management: Monitor and maintain student immunization records and health files.Emergency Response: Manage and respond to medical emergencies, collaborating with school staff.Disease Monitoring: Monitor and track communicable diseases, including contact tracing for COVID-19.Health Education: Provide health education and counselling to students, staff, and families.Confidentiality Compliance: Maintain and transmit confidential student health information in compliance with FERPA and HIPAA.Qualifications:Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification.
