ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Engineering Support Specialist, you will be a key contributor to our diverse team of scientists, engineers, and technicians, providing technical and program management support to drive the success of our projects. You will work closely with engineering and program leadership to manage and expedite critical project procurements, continuously improve processes, execute capital projects, and document property management and processes aligned with government compliance. You will help develop standard operating processes and training across Autonomous Systems & AI (AAI) and potentially other Advanced and Applied Technology (AAT) directorates as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide project engineering administrative support for AAI research and development efforts. These include, but not limited to, coordinating Program Management Reviews (PMRs), meeting reports, NDAs, shipping, securing building access…etc.

  • Work closely with government compliance and government asset management in support of government-funded programs to ensure compliance and team member training.

  • Manage the prioritization and execution of AAI capital projects including the approval of budget items in the Capital Planning System, procurements, project closure and asset management.

  • Manage and track a heavy load and constantly changing queue of procurement requests from project engineers/team members and effectively manage expectations on deliveries to meet project schedule milestones.

  • Support the on-boarding and training of new hires and team members on procurement processes, government compliance and asset management, and capital process.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

  • 2+ years’ experience working with procurement processes with a passion for continuous process improvement to expedite a wide range of projects.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.

  • Experience developing and documenting standard operating procedures.
