UPMC MRI Technologist / MRI Technologist Adv. - UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

UPMC St. Margaret is looking to hire Full-Time MRI Technologists to work daylight, evening, and overnight shifts. We are looking for highly engaged and motivated candidates to provide high-quality services to our patients. < 2 years experience: $10,000 with a 2-year commitment

2 years experience: $15,000 with a 2-year commitment OR $30,000 with a 3-year commitment

Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title & salary based on their experience and education.

Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.

  • Demonstrates complete operation of specialty equipment, analyzes data promptly, and completes quality control activities.

  • Assist with the training of staff and students.

  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.

  • Performs all job responsibilities of Level I MRI Technologist including practices and maintains MR safety in the department, addresses patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast and communicating according to standard operating procedures, completes procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updates and documents patient information into rad assessment.

  • Promptly responds to medical editing requests.

  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.

  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.

MRI Technologist Requirements:

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program or accredited ARDMS program

  • Must obtain MR registry within 18 months of hire date

MRI Technologist Adv. Requirements:

  • Completion of formal training in MRI-related program accredited by the ARRT

  • 2 years of MRI experience required.

  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:ARRT MR Certified. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • ARRT Certificate OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
