DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Laboratory Analyst I

Intertek PSI, is searching for a Laboratory Analyst I to join our Building & Constructionteam in our Pittsburgh, PA office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry!

The Laboratory Analyst I is primarily responsible for sample processing and preparation, laboratory analysis, reporting, and quality control activities.

What you'll do: * Sample Processing and Preparation. * Utilization of a LIMS for data entry and reporting. * QA/QC activities including but not limited to validations, following SOPs, calibrations, proficiency testing, and ensuring accreditation compliance. * Laboratory analysis. * Operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, including a Flame AA. * Reporting and client communication. * Maintaining organization and cleanliness of laboratory area.

What it takes to be successful in this role: * Bachelor's degree in chemistry required. * 1+ years of laboratory experience required. * Environmental laboratory experience strongly preferred. * Spectroscopy (specifically AA and/or ICP) experience strongly preferred. * Ability to work and prioritize effectively in a commercial laboratory setting. * Attention to detail, accuracy, integrity.
