Able to perform a variety of changing duties, able to adhere closely to established standards. Verbal ability is necessary to communicate with coworkers, contractors, and other members of hospital staff. Able to interpret technical manuals related to maintenance, blueprints and specifications for installation and maintenance of equipment. To be successful in this position, you should have a working knowledge of the following skill sets: + Boiler maintenance and repair, to include high pressure steam valves, steam traps, Y strainers, pressure reducing valves, steam lines, rebuilding steam condensate pumps and chemical water treatment systems. + Chiller maintenance and repair, to include operating variable frequency drives, rebuilding chill water pumps and chemical water treatment systems. + HVAC maintenance and repair, to include pneumatic and electronic controls. + Air compressor maintenance and repair. + Plumbing maintenance and repair, to include rebuilding/replacing hot/cold water booster pumps. + Electrical maintenance and repair, to include wiring and unwiring high and low voltage circuits. + Medical gas equipment maintenance. + Operating Building Automation Systems (BAS). + Knowledge in computerized systems to include Pneumatic controls as well digital controls. Qualifications: High school diploma/GED or technical training equivalent, plus one (1) to two (2) years of specialized training/experience in the mechanical field with preferred experience in Plant Operations. Training in specific items of equipment such as boilers, chillers, electrical, plumbing, air-condition and refrigeration is very desirable. Minimum (2) years’ experience preferred (5) years. Must have a valid NC driver’s license with a good driving history
