Avera is currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

    Job Summary

  • The Registered Nurse (RN) The RN in the Med/Surgical/Pediatrics Department will be knowledgeable in the care of the following age groups and maintain RN clinical competency in these groups: Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Sr. Adult, and Geriatric.

  • Competent to care for the general medical/surgical/pediatric patient.

  • To include, but not limited to: Respiratory Conditions, Congestive Heart Failure, Chest Pain, Cardio Vascular Accident, Diabetes Mellitus, Infectious Disease, General Cancer/Pain, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Laparoscopic Surgery, General Gynecological Surgery, and Pediatric Infections.

  • Responsible for the compliance of Physician/Provider orders.

  • Ensures all cares are complete on the patient, such as, but not limited to, Activities of Daily Living.

  • Ensures that safe discharge plan is complete.

  • Maintains accurate patient care plan.

  • Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.

  • Participates in educational opportunities and updates/maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Graduate of Registered Nursing (RN) Education program.

    Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Current licensure in the State of South Dakota as a Registered Nurse or multi-state compact RN license, and must be maintained in good standing.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire and must be maintained.

  • ACLS is recommended.

  • PALS is highly recommended.

    Work Schedule

  • 7:00am-7:00pm and 7:00pm-7:00am; 48 hours per pay period.

    Pay

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $31.00 - $46.50 per hour
