Essential Duties:

  • Effectively leading and coordinating all aspects of Phoenix Meat plant, including: production planning, scheduling, incoming packaging and ingredient receiving, and warehousing, meat cutting operation, ground beef operation, poultry operations and finished product warehousing and transfer to Shamrock Foods locations.
  • Thorough knowledge of plant safety requirements and ability to implement plant safety programs to meet OSHA requirement and plant safety objectives and of HACCP development and HACCP implementation in meat, and poultry manufacturing facility.
  • Supporting Meat Plant quality efforts by establishing plant floor associate ownership of product quality as well as support Meat Plant quality initiatives.
  • Working in conjunction with Shamrock Manufacturing group to define and implement plant AFE requirements to support plant growth and operational effectiveness.
  • Working with marketing and plant quality to support product research and development.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs

Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of related experience and/or training; Bachelor\'s degree (B.A.) from an accredited college preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to evenings, weekends, and holidays
