We are seeking a Buyer to join our team at CMI Group (Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing).

Location: 1515 W 17th St, Tempe, AZ 85281

Full time, on site position

Buyer Responsibilities:

  • Drive supplier material delivery in line with key customer requirements.
  • Plans, schedules, and administrates purchase orders to ensure material is delivered on time.
  • Escalates within supplier and CMI for demand-supply gaps.
  • Capable of sending out RFQs and evaluating supplier quotes
  • Track multiple procurements by supplier and manage supplier improvement
  • Develop supplier relationships and drive supplier performance.
  • Drive key metrics including supplier OTTR, PO acknowledgment, forecast alignment, past due, and decommits.
  • Demonstrates an active commitment to continuous improvement in the areas of Quality, Cost, Delivery and Lead Time.
  • Follow-up with suppliers. Acts as intermediary between vendors and internal customers to resolve fabrication, cost and schedule issues, to satisfy customers

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or similar technical discipline.

Prior Procurement experience is a plus.

Ability to lift moderate to heavy objects, up to 35 lbs.

Preferred Skills:

  • Good technical knowledge of procurement and sourcing
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to deal tactfully and confidently with internal/external customers at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship building skills
  • Intermediate MS Excel (Office) knowledge (pivot tables, vlookups, basic formulas)
  • Ability to multi-task projects and assess priorities in a complex and demanding environment.
  • Some experience or knowledge in using database systems (ERP/MRP/MPS)
  • Need to be well organized and exhibit follow through abilities
