The Turboshaft Engines Project Engineering team has an opening for an Advanced Project Engineer. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the interest, aptitude, and experience associated with the design, development, test and support of gas turbine engines for rotary-wing applications.

Due to US export control laws and customer contractual requirements, must be a US Citizen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support design and development activity of the engine system through all aspects of the Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) process on schedule, on budget and in compliance with all technical requirements.

  • Cost account manager for assigned scope, including Earned Value Management System reporting. Annual budgetary responsibility $1 -3M.

  • Expected to serve as the single point leader for the component, module or test assignments.

  • Lead a diverse cross functional team to accomplish the scope.

  • Escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization.

  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

  • Bias toward creative thinking and innovation in product design and approach to everyday work.

  • Implement design-to-cost and variation-reduction strategies.

  • Promote and build strong team working relationships.

  • Manage within very difficult resource constraints.

  • Identify gaps and risks on behalf of the team.

  • Balances workload of the team members.

  • Monitor work of team members to recognize when they are “stuck” or “off track”.

  • Leverages technical experts to review the technical work of the team.

  • Communicate project status with internal and external customers.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Due to US export control laws and customer contractual requirements, must be a US Citizen.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

  • 3+ years directly related engineering experience in the design, development, manufacture, and/or test of gas turbine engines or similarly complex mechanical systems.

WE VALUE

  • Prior experience leading gas turbine engine design and development activities.

  • Testing of moderately complex systems.

  • Excellent oral and written communications.

  • Program/Project Management experience.

  • Strong cost account management skills.

  • Demonstrates a bias for action and ability to work independently.

  • Prioritizes time and resources effectively.

  • Ability to build constructive working relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
