  • POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Medical Secretary's responsibilities are to perform clerical and receptionist duties. Answers incoming phone calls, registers patients, and schedules appointments as needed. Performs various clerical/support functions in conjunction with the completion and processing of all types of records including electronic filing and routine release of information requests. Performs other tasks as assigned. The Medical Secretary is responsible to log patient demographic information into EMR per designated workflow and obtain necessary treatment, billing and consent signatures. Staff also responsible to conduct aspects of pre-visit planning and conductive work in accordance with practice workflow and goals as a patient centered medical home. Introduces new patients to the medical home model. Encourages and informs patients how to access their care team during and after office hours.

  • WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum:

  • 1 year prior experience in an office setting, above average spelling, typing skills, computer knowledge, the ability to organize work and meet realistic work load.

  • Previous experience in clerical or receptionist position required

  • Preferred:

  • 1 year prior experience in a medical office.

  • Customer relations, hospital experience or satisfactory completion of related medical practice training program.

  • Experience with coding procedures is desired.

  • SKILLS:

  • Minimum:

  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly to staff, physicians, patients and visitors.

  • Able to perform under pressure, (relate to patients, hospital staff, physicians and visitors)

  • Salary Range: $18.03-$19.18
