Freeport-McMoRan Inc. Process Automation Engineer I in Parshall, Colorado

Our Henderson mine and mill are an hour drive apart - separated by the Continental Divide and a 15-mile conveyor system (10 miles underground). The Henderson mine is an underground molybdenum mining operation located approximately 42 miles west of Denver and 10 miles west of Empire. It has been in operation since 1976 and today consists of a large block-cave, underground mining complex feeding a concentrator with a current capacity of approximately 32,000 metric tons per day. It can produce approximately 15 million pounds of molybdenum per year. The Henderson mill is located 15 miles west of the mine, between Dillon and Kremmling.?

Description: - Maintain the performance of the process control system by identifying and reporting poor performing process areas and process automation components or platforms - Identify and report poor performing processes by having process understanding of mineral, chemical, and/or concentrate processing systems. - Identify and report poor performing regulatory or advanced control, controller equipment, software issues, and human machine interface problems. - Identify and report faulty process instrumentation by having understanding of basic sensors and actuation. - Identify and report issues with process control systems communication and plant historians. - Understanding of alarm philosophy and alarm performance metrics.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline no experience required

Preferred Qualifications: - Process control systems experience - Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer/Systems Engineering
