DuPont is looking for a Plant Process & Project Engineer at our site in Parlin, NJ.

  • Key responsibilities will be supporting daily 24x5 or 24x7 production manufacturing operations for the Parlin Site and active team member within the Cyrel® production operations.

  • Support advanced troubleshooting efforts and equipment upgrades to help drive step change in operational performance (OEE, Yield, Etc.) and release capacity for business operations.

  • Create prepare, procure and updating existing engineering produces, area operations procedures, maintenance plans and relative supporting documentation for all PSM and Quality related equipment within the SAP management system (P23). Provide written, oral, or diagrammed instructions to aid in the completion of technical tasks.

  • Support engineers, maintenance planners, coordinators and supervisor(s) in the preparation upcoming site or area specific maintenance work for mechanics, electricians and/or contractors.

  • Provides technical training and coaching to Engineers, Supervisors, Maintenance Staff, Process Technicians and Operators.

  • Mentor and coach team members to continue to grow by providing guidance and coaching junior engineers to develop the right project strategies, technical approaches and workplan details as well as personal goals, and to then execute while developing their technical capabilities.

  • Leads or participates in Process Hazards Analysis (PHAs) and participates in technical Root Cause Investigations (RCIs) for incidents and near misses.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations and drive correctives actions to completion.

  • Support capital projects, planned downtime events, turnaround scopes and support all turnaround activities within the Cyrel Manufacturing Area(s).

  • Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts to develop work scopes and drive solutions from start to completion/implementation.

  • Provides input to Mechanical Integrity Quality Assurance (MIQA) process and successful execution of the maintenance service process (preventative maintenance, calibrations, etc.)

  • Maintain professional conduct & positive working relationships with all peers & management.

  • The incumbent conducts other projects as assigned and works 40+ hours per week and may need to cover other shifts as needed.

  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering required. MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years (10 years preferred) of experience and knowledge in project management (Idea to Implementation), mechanical and industrial engineering within the chemical, materials process and/or manufacturing industry.

  • Experience with Industrial & Extrusion equipment of all sizes such as: Motors, Pumps, Chillers, Valves, Piping, Dies, Vessels, and the supporting electrical & controls instrumentation.

  • Fundamental understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems, Management of Change (MOCs) and Process Hazards Analysis (PHAs).

  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and industrial process equipment in the field and perform the Root cause analysis (RCA).

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects simultaneously (Average: 15+ projects depending on size and scale).

  • Demonstrated success in managing and leading both long-term programs and projects as well as addressing short-term operational issues.

  • Experience with developing basic data, project execution, equipment startup & commissioning. Skilled in creating/reviewing technical documentation (Drawings, Standard Operating Procedures, Maintenance Plans, etc.)

  • Understanding of Capital Project process from justification to execution.

  • Able to work independently and with a team.

  • Able to write technical equipment specifications for equipment purchases and write scopes of work for engineering, design, and installation of equipment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel), design tools and working knowledge/experience with SAP.
