This opportunity offers flexible scheduling with a PRN schedule working 5:30am-2pm and/or 10am-6:30pm on an as needed basis.

Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient treatment services to children, adolescents and adults at our 86-bed facility in Panama City, FL and outpatient services to adolescents and adults at our three outpatient centers located throughout the Florida Panhandle. Additionally, we offer specialized treatment for active duty military members through our Military Resiliency Program, specialized chemical dependency treatment and TMS therapy for chronic depression.

The Cook is responsible for maintaining principles of proper food production and other related activities. Prepares and cooks foods according to menu; confers with supervisors as to use of leftovers; making menu changes, as necessary. Works together with the employees of the department to provide optimal food, nutritional and environmental services to the patients, visitors, and staff to ensure the healing and well-being of each individual.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintains high standards of food handling and cleanliness

  • Uses cook, chill or conventional cooking methods to prepare quality foods in sufficient quantities for customers

  • Adheres to standardization of recipes and portion control to prevent food waste and control cost.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

  • Two years food services experience required.

  • Requires enough basic education to understand and follow standard practice or and written instructions.

  • Ability to work on a PRN/as needed basis: 5:30am-2pm and/or 10am-6:30pm.

  • Ability to pass a AHCA Level II Background Screening.
