Key job responsibilities

A successful Principal Technical Program Manager should:

  • Be highly autonomous with strong business judgment and problem-solving skills.

  • Have the ability to analyze quantitatively, scope technical requirements, and effectively prioritize project deliverables.

  • Great verbal and written communication skills and can influence cross organizations at the VP level.

  • An ideal candidate for this role has extensive experience in delivering customer facing features through science and engineering innovations.

  • In this role, you will partner with SDEs, Scientists, Product Managers and UX designers to create game changing customer experiences.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • 3+ years of experience in working with science teams.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managing customer-facing feature development.

  • Familiar with online experimentation, e.g., A/B testing.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
