NBC Universal Sr Manager, Human Resources – Open Door in Orlando, Florida

Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY:

Serves as a neutral party to investigate and facilitate the resolution of concerns of Team Members and managers homed to Orlando involving escalated allegations of unfair treatment, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Acts as a liaison to NBCU Legal and NBCU Fair Employment Practices regarding such investigations. Evaluates trends and conducts work environment assessments. Provides recommendations to senior operations management and HR Business Partners for the resolution of complex investigations.

Strong Investigations experienced required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for conducting escalated internal investigations of highly-sensitive and/or complex employment-related complaints (allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, management, work environment, reasonable accommodation) to ensure issues are resolved in a fair and consistent manner.

  • Provides guidance and direction to senior operations management and HR Business Partners on all matters related to employee relations. Ensures fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practices, and legal compliance. Ensures corrective actions are handled in a fair and consistent manner.

  • Regularly partners with NBCU Legal, HR Business Partners, and NBCU Fair Employment Practices on a variety of escalated sensitive matters.

  • Works with individuals and groups to assess work environments in order to continue the culture of direct relationships with Team Members. Recommends options to senior operations management and HR Business Partners to help resolve conflicts, problematic issues, or concerns, and to bring systemic concerns to the attention of the organization and HR Business Partners for resolution.

  • Identifies, organizes, and facilitates training related to positive work environment, and conducting investigations.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations, or Business Administration is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 7-10 years of progressive Employee Relations experience, including significant experience conducting investigations

  • ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with labor unions preferred.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This role works independently with limited direction and must be comfortable in making independent fact-based recommendations. Will partner extensively across HR, Legal, and the business. In addition:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Strong analytic and organizational skills

  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach

  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and effective

  • Experience conducting investigations in a corporate environment and ability to conduct investigations with empathy, tact, and discretion

  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members and managers

  • Strong conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent leadership, problem solving, project management, and presentation skills

  • Ability to manage risk while ensuring optimal outcomes are achieved
