NY1498127 Electronics Technician. Fiber Instrument Sales, Inc., the recognized leader in manufacturing fiber optic cable, connectors, enclosures, test equipment, and related components/assemblies used world-wide in the telecommunications industry has an IMMEDIATE OPENING for full-time ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN at its Oriskany, NY headquarters. Duties and Responsibilities: * IMPORANT - THIS IS A HANDS-ON, BENCH POSITION* Set up, test, build and troubleshoot electronic systems, devices and components. Assemble and connect system components. Build prototype models based on technical guidelines. Monitor and report on project progress. Test system functionality and analyze data. Repair malfunctions in circuitry and other system structures. Read and comprehend complex manuals and diagrams. Collaborate with engineers and other professionals on technical tasks. Use various hand tools and test equipment to build and repair systems. Qualifications: Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Understanding of production, test, and calibration procedures Knowledge and practice of ESD techniques Ability to read schematics, work instructions and manuals. Prior solder experience. Adherence to health and safety regulations. Attention to detail. Teamwork and communication skills. Must be able to work independently. Ability to bend, twist, reach, and lift up to 20lbs. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Attention to detail and focus on consistent quality. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: Experience as an Electronic Technician or 3-5 years in a comparable technical environment. AAS in Electrical Tech or equivalent strongly preferred. SCHEDULE: M-F, 7am-3:30pm Important: Wage rate will be commensurate with position, shift worked, experience, education and required skill level. Pay: From $20.00 per hour Must be able to reliably commute to or planning to relocate before starting work in Oriskany, NY.
