JOB TITLE: Licensed Mental Health Professional CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Exempt PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT: Behavioral Health Services IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Supervisor of Behavioral Health Services POSITION SUMMARY: Evaluates, assess, and provides therapeutic services to children and adults through principles, practices and techniques of psychotherapy casework. Provides services to various age groups including adults and children in the community. Completes assessments, evaluations and provides community mental health program services in accordance with laws and regulations as well as individual client rights. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education, Training & Experience: Licensed or eligible for licensure in NYS as a: LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LMSW, Licensed Psychoanalyst Preferred Education, Training & Experience: Training related to evaluation of MH diagnosis Experience providing services to individuals with serious emotional disturbances. Experience utilizing community resources available to assist individuals with metal health diagnoses ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Valid New York State driver’s license that meets the Agency’s driving policy and dependable transportation Ability to work flexible hours and periodically respond to “on-call” demands Functional knowledge of basic computer applications (i.e. word-processing, e-mail, Internet) Knowledge of social aspects, attitudes, characteristics and behaviors of mental illness and emotional disturbances Knowledge of current developments in the field of community mental health. Ability to react appropriately to emergency and other unusual/crisis situations Effective communication skills, orally and in writing
