Northfield Hospital & Clinics Hospice Volunteer Coordinator in Northfield, Minnesota
Recruits, trains and retains volunteers who serve the hospice patients and their families. Serves as liaison for volunteers and hospice staff. Assists with coordination and implementation of hospice activities. Responsibilities: Recruits, interviews and selects volunteers. Provides orientation for new volunteers. Plan and facilitates monthly volunteer meetings, which include patient updates, education and inservice. Maintains volunteer personnel files. Ensures required documentation of patient contacts and bereavement follow-up for patient records. Assigns volunteers after reviewing patient/family needs with hospice team and patients/families. Provides patient information to volunteer, serves as resource to volunteers who are working with patients/families. Produces and distributes Hospice Volunteer Newsletter and supervises bereavement mailings project (by hospice volunteer). Assists in planning and coordination of annual hospice events, such as staff/volunteer retreat, memorial service, volunteer holiday gathering and other community events. Serves as a member of the hospice interdisciplinary team. Schedule: Varying days, Monday-Friday, 16 hours/2 weeks. Typically day hours, 8am-4:30pm.
