Date of Need: 6/5/2024 to 11/15/2024 Drives and operates farm machinery. Attaches farm implements to tractors. Removes excess growth from apple trees and fruit plants, and applies general use pesticides under the supervision of a licensed applicator. Picks apples and tree fruit. Prepares apples and fruit for sale and processing. Removes rocks, weeds, and brush from orchards and fields using tools. Prepares soil, plants and seeds. Trains and prunes apple trees, fruit trees and bushes. Lays out irrigation pipes and adjusts valves. Assists with frost control activities. Installs and removes bird netting on crops. Cleans, lubricates, and adjusts farm machinery. Repairs and maintains irrigation equipment, farm machinery and farm buildings. Will be required to lift 50 pounds while ascending and descending a ladder. Must be capable of receiving detailed instructions from supervisors. Will work individually or as part of a team. One month experience required in work listed.
