DESCRIPTION

TheAdult Education Instructor, Barista/Fountain Worker (Food and Beverage)will be responsible for the successful delivery of a holistic hands-on training experience for CALV's growing barista and fountain worker program. The instructor will develop and deliver lesson plans that use a broad range of appropriate teaching techniques and strategies. This role requires the ability to train on all aspects of table greets, taking food and drink orders, sanitation, cash handling, POS operation, restaurant hosting and food expediting, and customer service that exceeds expectations and enhances the guest experience. The instructor will also be expected to consistently develop curricula, online courses, and proprietary course materials to support student success outcomes. The FandB instructor will work in collaboration with various applied learning instructors (food and beverage operators), curriculum manager, and other professionals across the CALV enterprise to design and deliver training programs that equip youth, adults, and displaced workers with the employable skills to seek, find, and retain employment in the evolving hospitality workplace. This position will report to the Dean of Education and Learning Support Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, train, and actively provide instruct students in the following skills:

  • POS Operation - inputting orders accurately and in a timely manner
  • Cash Handling - including picking up, counting and reconciling cash banks.
  • Teach and exemplify the true meaning of hospitality in food and beverage operations common in the hotel industry.
  • Handcrafting and serving coffee, espresso, and tea drinks
  • All aspects of table greeting, food and drink service, restaurant hosting and food expediting.
  • All aspects of proper food and drink service techniques to include wine and water service.
  • Banquets and / or special events such as catered events.
  • Performing daily opening and closing duties of a restaurant

Maintain proper coverage and student schedules ensuring the restaurant maintains customer service standards

Perform and practice SNHD sanitation protocols
