The Opportunity

Stantec have an opportunity for an A-level or equivalent school leaver to join a team in our Newcastle office specialising in water projects. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a fast-growing, multi-disciplinary infrastructure consultancy.

As a Digital Design Technician, you will be self-motivated and responsible for supporting the Digital Delivery team locally and potentially UK wide. Working under the close mentorship of our experienced Regional Disciple Lead (RDL), you will learn how to use relevant software and programs to produce computer aided design drawings for our Engineering team and play a key role in the successful delivery of our water projects.

We will provide you with an excellent working environment in our modern offices, every opportunity to deliver high quality work including a support network, that will enable you to take your first steps towards achieving your professional aspirations.

Supported closely by your mentor, duties will include:

  • Collaborating with engineers from multi disciplines.

  • Managing personal workload plans, establishing, and maintaining delivery deadlines.

  • Preparing project drawings and BIM models, understanding, interpreting, and implementing local client CAD standards and BIM data requirements.

  • Working within the Common Data Environments for your CAD data with ISO19650 compliance.

About you

Ideally you will have a minimum A-level or equivalent qualifications in STEM subjects and some awareness and appreciation of water engineering. You will have a strong desire to pursue a career in CAD, with some experience in AutoCAD gained through your academic studies / work placement.
