Job Summary

The Corrosion Technician performs tests, repairs and maintenance related to pipeline corrosion. Inspects and tests facilities and equipment to identify existing and potential corrosion problems.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently, make field decisions without direct supervision and be responsible for obtaining field data to determine condition of structures under evaluation.

  • Compile and submit field data for senior staff review.

  • Be familiar with standard survey and construction practices for corrosion control projects.

  • Evaluate field data and prepare draft reports for the area supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 0-3 years (minimum) experience in corrosion control industry particularly related to cathodic protection work.

  • Ability to work independently as well as interact with team members, clients and management staff.

  • Ability/ willingness to travel as required for the job.

  • Clean driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle.

  • This position may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 60 pounds, and, in general, being overall physically demanding. It may also require work in an all-weather environment.

  • Have a current certification with NACE International as a Corrosion Technician, CP Level 1 or higher preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 50 pounds, and, in general, being overall physically demanding. It may also require work in an all-weather environment.
