The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.Position SummaryReporting to the Manager of Distributed Systems, the Supervisor of Facilities Operations (Refrigeration Controls Systems) will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair, and maintenance of building refrigeration systems, control systems, and HVAC systems throughout the Manhattanville campus. This includes direct expansion units, heat pump systems, refrigerators, freezers, environmental control boxes, and the various chillers installed throughout the campus, as well as, associated auxiliary systems and machinery used in the distribution and dispersion of HVAC&R. The Supervisor of Facilities Operations (Refrigeration Controls Systems) directs the frontline staff (union) in executing daily performance inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.Responsibilities- He/She is responsible for monitoring and maintaining records on all applicable equipment and is directly responsible for tracking daily work performance; ensuring work is being performed effectively and efficiently.- Works closely with the Manager on the development and implementation of systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the operation, repair, and maintenance of Refrigeration Controls Systems and Distributed Systems.- The Supervisor of Facilities Operations (Refrigeration Controls Systems), monitors contracts for compliance and costs, monitors general expenditure of the units and performs quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications and industry standards. In addition, will also be responsible for maintaining inventory of refrigerant, machinery, tools, etc.- The Supervisor is responsible for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) utilization by the Refrigeration Controls Systems and Distributed Systems personnel and ensures work is properly documented and completed in a timely manner. He/She oversees forepersons and workers to ensure the safe and reliable operation and distribution of HVAC&R Systems to the Manhattanville Campus. Provides technical expertise in the operations, maintenance, repair and controls of the Refrigeration Controls Systems. The position will apply professional principles and judgment to assist with the planning, leadership, operations, maintenance, and administration of the Refrigeration Controls Systems. The Supervisor will ensure effective operations and avoid unsafe conditions or service interruptions of the various applicable systems.- The Supervisor of Facilities Operations (Refrigeration Controls Systems) works closely with the Manager of Distributed Systems to provide a highly reliable environment, and seamless service to the clients as well as supporting other departments, events, and activities as required. The Supervisor should promote the values and mission of the University and the department. All interactions will be performed in a professional, high quality, and customer centered manner in professional attire. Develop and maintain effective communication with clients. He/she oversees staff development, mentorship and training including compliance with certifications and licensing. Performs additional duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent, plus a minimum of 3-5 years related experience required.- Required: Two (2) years of demonstrated supervisory experience of union/non-union staff required.- Strong understanding of the various systems throughout a facility, including HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Lighting, etc.- Computer literacy and experience working with spreadsheets required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Excellent oral and written communications skills.
