Responsibilities: The Human Resource Generalist supports the Administration and Compliance unit in all aspects of managing the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department. This position will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities when it comes to planning, implementing, and maintaining HR programs, policies, and procedures including but not limited to, benefits administration, employee, and labor relations, leave of absence management, workers compensation, talent acquisition and compensation, within the New York office and throughout the enterprise.

This position functions in a 24/7 operations environment and thus must be available to respond to work-related emails, text or calls as directed by supervisor or management on weekdays and weekends based on operational needs. - Assists with the review, tracking, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications. - Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. - Conducts New Employee Orientation (NEO) presentations. - Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. - Processes workers compensation claims and conducts the preliminary investigations. - Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. - Maintains compliance with policies, practices, federal, state, and local employment laws, and regulations, and recommended best practices. - Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. - Serves as a member of the Covid contact tracing team by completing intake, wellness checks, weekly reporting and is a liaison to the department. - Provides exemplary customer service and performs front desk operations which include but not limited to, responding to employee inquiries, ordering office supplies, processing mail, completing department mailings. - Supports implementation of all HR programs and initiatives. - Manages the Admin & Compliance webpage, the HR general e-mail inbox and fax folder. - Manages the records retention projects including audits, state inspections, personnel files, identification card, licensing renewals and mobile drive documentation. - This position functions in a 24/7 operations environment and thus requires the ability to work as directed on weekdays and weekends based on the operational needs of the department. - Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or closely related field. Experience: Three years of performing directly related Human Resources functions.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $75,000.00 p/yr to $85,000.00 p/yr.
