American Friends of The Hebrew University (AFHU) is a national, not-for-profit organization that provides programs, events and fundraising activities in support of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel’s foremost center of higher education and research. Since its inception, Hebrew University’s scientists, scholars and researchers have been committed to solving the most pressing global challenges of our time.

The Gift Processing Coordinator is integral to the Development Operations team, responsible for processing all gifts within the Raise’s Edge database, maintaining accurate data, fielding inquiries and supporting fundraising efforts.

Reporting directly to the Director of Development Operations, the Gift Processing Coordinator works closely with AFHU’s regional fundraising staff and finance department and supports the operations department with other initiatives, as needed.

An ideal candidate has experience using the Raiser’s Edge database, entering gifts within batches and has a basic understanding of concepts including campaigns, appeals, packages, funds, hard and soft credit, split gifts, and adjustments.

Schedule: Hybrid; 2 days in office

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Processing and recording of all contributions in the Raiser’s Edge database.

  • Responsible for importing gift information from multiple sources including cash deposits, online donations, direct mail solicitations as well as wire and stock donations.  

  • Creating queries and exports to analyze data as requested.

  • Generating key fundraising and accounting reports on a regular basis to be reviewed by the executive team and throughout the organization.

  • Creating new codes for events, solicitations, fund designations, endowments, naming opportunities and special projects.

  • Trains and oversees development staff in proper use of database.

  • Develops and maintains procedures manual for gift and pledge entry and maintenance.

  • Managing data hygiene and other initiatives to improve data quality.

  • Monthly reconciliation of cash and credit card gifts received to bank account.

  • Monthly reconciliation of gift adjustments.

  • Additional administrative work related to accounting including monthly journal entries, recording cash receipts, reviewing credit card fees and bank statements.

  • Oversee annual tax receipts and quarterly donor pledge statements.

  • Special projects as needed

    Skills/Qualifications required:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience using Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge/NXT or similarly complex fundraising CRM.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in financial operations, record keeping, transaction inquiry and cash or cash-equivalent (within a nonprofit setting) preferred.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to analyze reports.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Solid time management skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot data issues, conflicts and discrepancies.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

  • Ability to interact graciously.

    Annual Salary: $60,000-$70,000
