This is an exciting and challenging job that will fully utilize your engineering degree and process skills in a way that few positions can offer. As a key resource supporting research and development in emerging hydrogen products, this position also works within the industry to forward Chart’s position as leader in safety in the markets we serve.

This position is based in New Prague, MN and eligible for relocation support.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Manage safety protocols & procedures for safe commissioning, testing, & decommissioning hydrogen equipment.

  • Maintain site timeline &prepare for upcoming tests.

  • Coordinate activitiesof the test site to ensure safety and efficiency.

  • Maintain safety training documentation and train new personnel.

  • Analyze critical-to-safety design attributes of hydrogen systems and test fixtures.

Your Education & Background Should Be…

  • BS engineering degree required; Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical preferred.

  • Working knowledge of industrial codes and common engineering practices used within the oil and gas industry. Codes of specific interest are ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII Division 1, NFPA 52/59A/55/2.

  • Experience with PLC, SCADAor controls automation.

  • Experience with design of experiments and data acquisition.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • 7 years of experience in the engineering, design, fabrication, and commissioning of mechanical equipment used in the cryogenic pressure vessel or process industry preferred.

  • At least 5 years of direct cryogenic hydrogen commissioning and service.

  • Experience in hydrogen fueling operations.

  • Knowledge of SAE hydrogen fueling standards (J2601).

  • Experience with hands-on technical work which requires partnering with field operation and production staff.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Highly motivated self-starter and a team leader.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple tasks.

  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Working Conditions

  • Office environment.

  • H2 Test Site outdoor testing.

  • Engineering lab, indoor & outdoor testing.

  • Work related travel required (approximately 10%).

Work Hazards:

  • Production floor environment will involve possible exposure to materials with rough edges, temperature extremes, moving mechanical parts, occasional flying debris, chemical cleaning solvents and their odors.

  • Liquid hydrogen testing.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift to 40 lb.

  • Frequent standing, sitting, and walking.

  • Frequent computer work.

  • Frequent work at an outdoor liquid hydrogen test site
