Exotic Automation & Supply Field Service Technician in New Hudson, Michigan

General Summary:

Manages the day-to-day operations of the Mobile Service Technician responsibilities ensuring delivery of excellent customer service.   Related activities include, but are not limited to, being on-call 24 hours per day/7 days per week/365 days per year responding to customer hose repair calls, truck maintenance, monthly reports, servicing assigned territory and soliciting new business and inventory maintenance on truck.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Travelling to customer sites to complete on-site troubleshooting, repairs, and installations. (90% local / 10% overnight)

  • Managing assigned fleet vehicle, inventory, and tools. 

  • Provides recommendations and technical expertise to customers while onsite. 

  • Works with support team to complete all service-call paperwork, requests, and orders. 

  • Performs all other duties as assigned or requested. 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 2+ years of service work related to industrial equipment (compressed air, HVAC, vacuum)

  • Working knowledge of compressed air systems and associated components.

  • Experience with three-phase electrical and plumbing systems (copper & aluminum)

  • Strong mechanical aptitude for mechanical equipment.

  • Strong customer service skills and aptitude. 

    Working Conditions:

  • Normal business office environment with regular (up to 100% of work time) exposure to noise, dust, office equipment and supplies. 

  • Physical dexterity needed to bend, stretch, lift and reach.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extensive periods throughout the day.

  • Ability to perform basic office tasks using standard office equipment.

  • Ability to use a keyboard and computer.
