PURPOSE STATEMENT

Perform various duties of cake decoration on a production line while utilizing decorating tools toproduce quality ice cream cakes.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in compliance with housekeepingsafety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements
  • Adhere to GMP guidelines for personal practices regarding hygiene andcleanliness
  • Creating borders, writing inscriptions, drawing characters from templates
  • Decorating holiday and specialty items
  • Communicate with Group/Assistant Leaders
  • Completes re-work for cakes when needed
  • Adhere to break relief and job rotation guidelines for specific product lines
  • Administers technical training of other cake decorators and/or temporaryassociates
  • Provide coverage in other departments when needed
  • Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating andmaintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate about work instructions and safety informationwritten in English
  • Must have the ability to write simple correspondence and effectively communicateinformation in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, other employees inthe organization and vendors.
  • Ability and desire to train other associates
  • Previous cake decorating experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Moderate degree of physical activity and coordination required * Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds * Continuous standing and moderate walking * Continuous pushing/pulling/lifting/reaching/grasping/squeezing * Work in moderately loud environment * Works near moving mechanical parts * Vision requirements: Requires distance vision, color visions, peripheral vision, depthperception and ability to focus * Must wear PPE and GMP appropriate for the position: non-slip footwear, hair net, beardnet (if applicable), nitrile food-grade gloves
