Description

Industry leading flexible packaging company seeking an experienced industrial Electrician to join our talented maintenance staff. In this role, you would primarily be responsible for responding to trouble calls on industrial equipment, such as, extruders, rewinders, printing presses as well as support equipment like chillers, air compressors and building equipment.

Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Follow quality requirements to meet or exceed specifications.

  • Effectively communicate with employees from your own and other departments to ensure a team environment.

  • Understand and apply knowledge of electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics.

  • Commitment, awareness, and involvement pertaining to ISO (policy, standards, procedures, etc.) food safety practices (GMPs, procedures, etc.) are requirements of all employees.

  • Read technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.

  • Document technical information through descriptive writing, sketches/diagrams, mathematical expression, computation, and graphs.

  • Perform electrical assembly/disassembly, repair, or calibrate components by properly selecting tools and equipment and following procedures.

  • Understand the overall operation and control of machines.

  • Assembles wires, insulation, and electrical components, such as resistors and capacitors, following method layouts.

  • Apply electrical skills to troubleshoot control and operator panels.

  • Tests assembled instruments for circuit continuity and operational reliability.

  • Analyzes test results and repairs or adjusts instruments according to analysis.

  • Calibrates instruments according to specifications.

  • Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing.

  • Demonstrate persistence when dealing with complex problems.

  • Assess the condition of used parts to conform to specifications

Qualifications, Education, Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

  • Product or industry specific machine experience.

  • Basic Mechanical Skills

  • High School Level Mathematics

  • Experience with PLC’s and drives trouble shooting. hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical skills a plus.

  • Completed a Journeyman or Electromechanical Apprenticeship Program in a manufacturing environment.

  • 7-years’ experience and/or training in a manufacturing facility; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Advanced skills (Journeyman level) required in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, pneumatic systems, and PLC programming.
