Bump Boxes Senior Full Stack Developer (Must reside in TN) in Nashville, Tennessee

Bump Health is a women's healthcare company that provides before, during, and after pregnancy services, including safe and healthy products for expecting moms, all-natural skin care products formulated for pregnancy, relaxing tea blends, access to free breast pumps, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Development includes updates and maintenance of several ecommerce applications and supporting services.

  • Manage multiple technical projects simultaneously.

  • Work with internal department heads, engineers, project managers, and executives to understand their needs and priorities.

  • Write or update use cases, stories, epics, and tickets for fellow engineers to act upon, as needed.

  • Manage timelines, estimates, quality assurance, and be very detail-oriented in their written and verbal communications and specifications.

  • Successfully complete tasks and projects, ensuring quality standards are met and deliverables are on time.

  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to managers.

  • Proactively identify and resolve ticket, task, and feature-related issues.

  • Be a user advocate; passionate about delivering frictionless user experience.

  • Frontend changes involve creating components that operate under various brand styles.

  • Performance tuning of React component lifecycle and organizing into reusable components.

  • Integrating site analytics and event triggering. Changes include A/B testing various options to back decisions with data.

  • Attend team’s remote daily online “standups” and follow agile development practices.

  • Designing new features, performance tuning, and creating automated test suites, and helping other teams with automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of back-end development experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of front-end development experience.

  • Proven track record of managing time for successful task completion.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Self driven learner.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Enjoys collaborating with others to find optimal solutions.

  • Strong sense of ownership - proactively seeking improvements on product, features, and processes.

  • Strong understanding of and experience with the MERN stack.

  • Deep knowledge of web performance and accessibility.

  • Strong understanding of git tools and version control workflows.

  • Bonus: experience building a design system with tools such as Storybook.
