Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Multiple Locations, Germany

The Windows AI Proactive Experience team is creating new experiences that will leverage the potential of AI in Windows and create advanced visualizations of data.   

  

The Windows AI Proactive Experience team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join us in WinUI3 codebase (hosted on GitHub) as we deliver additional capabilities to provide high performance graphics APIs that are composable with WinUI3 controls.  You will be collaborating with a technical fellow to build exciting new features that will set User Experience (UX) direction for projects in Windows.

Responsibilities

  • Experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, with development environment of WinUIdemonstrating a high level of proficiency and innovation.

  • Ability to work in Agile development methodologies and test-driven development practices to ensure robust and efficient code.

  • Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to align project goals and workflows.

  • Work independently on projects, showcasing self-management and problem-solving skills.  

  • Engage proactively with peers and cross-functional teams to share knowledge and integrate diverse insights into the development process.  

  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and applying new technologies and techniques to enhance project outcomes.

Qualifications

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience in software engineering principles such as data structures, object-oriented programming, and multithreading, as well as knowledge in areas like caches, queues, and graphics.  

  • Familiarity with the WinUI implementation including versions 2 & 3.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
