Description

This is a part time, 25 hour per week position that reports to the Director of Student Life. The chosen candidate will assist in developing and managing Student Life activity programming designed to promote student growth and leadership development. The position requires a varied schedule with some nights and weekends required, based on the calendar of student events.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, organizing, coordination and supervision of the college’s educational, recreational, social, leadership development, and cultural student activities programs.

  • Attend and supervise student-sponsored activities at RCBC and off-campus locations. Provide logistical support for activities.

  • Participate in the development of marketing strategies to promote campus activities and services to maximize student involvement.

  • Serve as co-advisor to the Student Life Activities Team.

  • Assist in the coordination of student club/organization activities and events.

  • Manage the department’s social media accounts and keep them updated with current content.

  • Assist with the planning and organization of the College’s commencement ceremony.

  • Serve on college committees as assigned.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Required:

Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.

Experience Required:

  • Experience working with event planning and program facilitation.

  • Demonstrated customer service experience.

Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements:

  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate on and off-site programs and trips.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills for individuals and groups.

  • Willingness to learn online systems.

  • Ability to work with a diverse student population.

Additional Information

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:

Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.

Employee Classification: Part Time
