Description

The Rowan Relations Specialist will collaborate with the Rowan Relations Director on initiatives that will benefit students as they transition from RCBC to Rowan University. Advise students through the Rowan University pathways by assisting with the application process and planning coursework for transfer. Assist in promoting the Rowan University partnership to the RCBC community.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff about the RCBC and Rowan Partnership.

  • Process new applications for the 3+1 program and provide students with an academic plan.

  • Provide academic advising services to students in relation to Rowan University transfer, including but not limited to RCBC degree completion, assistance with course selection and academic progress, and discussing future career goals.

  • Assist with the collection and analysis of data related to the RCBC and Rowan University Partnership.

  • Monitors incoming calls, appointment requests and emails from all students seeking the Rowan Relations Office.

  • Assist in the updating of the Rowan Relations website and marketing materials.

  • Assist with the implementation of information sessions, Open House, and special program-related recruitment/admissions activities.

  • Collaborate with other EMSS departments and Rowan University advisors on initiates that affect students’ effective transfer to Rowan University.

  • Train staff and faculty about the RCBC and Rowan University Partnership

  • Maintains confidential files and database of student contacts and cohorts in accordance with FERPA guidelines.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in a relevant area (Student Affairs, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, etc) strongly preferred.

Experience Required:

  • Working knowledge of college operations and programs.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and an understanding of the ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse cultures preferred.

  • At least one year of work-related experience in student services or customer service environments.

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work with a diverse population.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks.

Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Skilled use of computers using word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentations, online resources and electronic mail.

  • Working knowledge of college operations and programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks.

  • Organized and detail oriented.

  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a demanding work environment.

  • Ability to maintain and control confidential information.

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:

Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
