SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Rowan College at Burlington County, a comprehensive college in New Jersey's largest county, is seeking qualified applicants to fill the Computer Science/Information Systems Instructor position in the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified candidates must be able to prepare and deliver lessons in a variety of Computer Science and Computer Information Systems courses and disciplines including, but not limited to software and hardware applications, programming fundamentals, operation systems, networking, and database. The successful candidate will also demonstrate an ability and enthusiasm to lead student team projects.

Professional Development:

Participate in professional development or other activities that may include in-services, courses, professional organizations or seminars to advance instruction and technical skills as well as knowledge within the field of study.

Other Functions:

  • Assist in recruitment of students.

  • Support the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.

  • Develop community/industry contacts and participate in appropriate community service on behalf of the college.

OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

The most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students, other members of the college and the public.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Required:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Ph.D. Preferred.

Experience Required:

  • At least two years teaching experience in the discipline at the college level.

  • At least one-year experience in the use of instructional technologies

Preferred Qualification:

  • Computing curriculum design and development.

  • At least one year of industrial experience involving the applications of Computer Science or Information Systems.

  • Willing to teach online.

Additional Information

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS: Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
