THE ROLE: Xylem seeks to hire a Supply Chain Clerk-Shipping (2ndShift) . The Shipping Clerk is a business-critical position as they arrange and schedule all carriers for any shipments going out of the Morton Grove facility. Position requires the mobility to personally interface with employees throughout the facility. Long periods of desk/computer work. Both factory office and factory plant environment, with exposure to the associated conditions of same. Working around material moving equipment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES : To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Prepares and keeps records of goods shipped, e.g., manifests, bills of lading

  • Coordinate and communicate with frights carriers on trailer switches and pick-ups

  • Troubleshoot freight issues related to shipping in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system

  • Schedule freight within online portals

  • Communicate with cross functional departments as needed

  • Process returns both internal and external

  • Process sub-contract shipments

  • Support shift supervisor on shift management needs

  • Prepares and keeps records of goods shipped, e.g., manifests, bills of lading

  • Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • One-year related experience in related field

  • Experience operating a scanner

  • Ability to work independently with little direction or supervision.

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task under short deadlines.

  • Effective organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills

DAY IN THE LIFE :

In this role, the working environment is a general production/assembly environment, and the physical demands may include but not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, bending and lifting up to 25 pounds.

SALARY : The estimated salary range for this position is $39,500 to $62,000. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
