Roush Yates Engines Quality Control Technician III in Mooresville, North Carolina

Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions is a precision CNC manufacturing organization with expertise in multi-axis machining of metal parts with complex geometries. We produce machined parts for the automotive, aerospace, military, medical and industrial industries. Our manufacturing and quality management systems are dedicated to exceeding our customer's expectations through the continuous improvement of our processes, procedures and through the use of state-of-the-art technologies. We are currently seeking a Quality Control Technician III. This individual will perform quality inspection, measurement and testing on manufactured parts. They are responsible for analyzing data, documenting nonconformances and recommending corrective action to alleviate quality rejections.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect product to requirements (manual, visual and attribute). Report results of inspection.
  • Generate Non Conformance reports, and communicate to appropriate parties.
  • Maintain part integrity and safety from damage during inspection.
  • Assist/Mentor other Quality Technicians in best practices, dimensional verification, etc...
  • Operate/program CMM, Vision system, Formtracer or other equipment, as required by assigned tasks. Perform data review on DCC data collected during inspection.
  • Pull defect tracking data from database, when necessary.
  • Pull dimensional reports from database, when necessary.
  • Work with VP of Quality, Quality Control Manager, Engineering, Purchasing and anyone else as is appropriate on quality issues.
  • Work with Quality Engineering to develop inspection procedures.
  • Ensure all gages used are properly verified, maintained and calibrated.
  • Other duties as required.

Job Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Experience with Microsoft Access preferred.
  • 7+ years experience in Quality Control
  • 5+ years experience in CMM Programming (PC-Dmis or Calypso)
  • Familiarity with common inspection methods.
  • Experience with PPAPs and FAIRs.
  • Certificate, Associates degree, or equivalent work experience in manufacturing or related technical field.
  • In depth understanding of GDandT.
  • Working knowledge of different types of gaging and measurement methods.
  • Working knowledge of ISO and Calibration requirements.

Position Requirements

  • Good handwriting for documentation purposes.
  • Ability to work on repetitive tasks for a few hours at a time.
  • Must meet minimum vision standards, corrected or uncorrected, as follows: Snellen 14/18, 20/25 or better, Jaeger Type 2 at 14 inches, or Ortho-Rated 8.
  • For ITAR compliance, all employees at this location must be a US citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
