The Role

The Associate Incoming Specialist assists in the day-to-day service of large multinational commercial clients in a small team environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and communicate with the Network to process, invoice, deliver, and service globally placed North American policies.

  • Collaborate with the internal team to document internal and external strategy meetings.

  • Draft exposure and underwriting information, deliver to client, and gather updates from the client.

  • Coordinate and support all day-to-day client service and consultation.

  • Develop complete and accurate submissions for Placement.

  • Collaborate with Placement specialists throughout the placement process, and communicate and gather information to/from the client.

  • Design and build full client proposal, including the coverage comparison provided by Placement.

  • Request and obtain binders from insurers and perform or obtain the second set of eyes review as applicable.

  • Deliver binders and/or policies to client with appropriate transmittal letters.

  • Assist with follow-ups to client for subjectivities.

  • Collaborate with the internal team to request and process endorsements and audits.

  • Collaborate with Associates and other appropriate resources to draft fee agreement(s) as applicable.

  • Collaborate and communicate with Domestic and Global Center teams (e.g. Accounting, Certificate Center, Renewal Services, Policy Checking) to smoothly and effectively complete joint work/process steps including billing of premiums and fees.

  • Maintain account management information in appropriate systems.

  • Assist with unlicensed placement due diligence process. Complete documentation associated with filings.

  • Request and verify the accurate delivery of agency bill invoices and coordinate with accounting as applicable, including calculating premium and tax allocations.

  • Secure Premium Financing quotes and deliver to client.

  • Assist with billing adjustments as requested by Associates.

  • Complete review checklists and deliver the final policy check letter to client if no discrepancies found.

  • Complete the Certificate template as needed to allow the Certs Team to issue certificates.

  • Attend client meetings as required.

The Requirements:

Must successfully complete appropriate licensing exam(s) and/or maintain required licensing by completing various Continuing Education activities as needed. If already licensed, must be able to show valid confirmation of current status.

  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant working experience in a Commercial Underwriting or Commercial Broker environment

  • Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French

  • Technological acumen to adapt to multitude of technology-based systems, including agency management software, Adobe PDF applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and proprietary applications.

  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities using sound judgment and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong Decision making capabilities

  • Must be results-oriented

  • Ability to provide superior customer service to the client and the insured

  • Strong organizational skills in prioritizing duties and multi-tasking, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines

  • Independently carry out specific assignments and tasks

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is 50,000 – 65,000 CAD per year.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
