RJ Lee Group Inc Technician XRD in Monroeville, Pennsylvania

RJ Lee Group, Inc. is currently seeking a Technician to support our Analytical X-ray Diffraction Department.

Job Responsibilities: The Technician prepares samples for physical and chemical testing by crushing, grinding, weighing, ashing and filtering and other techniques. The technician  also prepares samples for analyses by digesting with acids and using EPA, ASTM, USP, FCC and other methodologies; conducts and observes standardized tests following test parameters and, as required, obtains and records data or ensures data has been captured by an automated system; operates requisite laboratory equipment and instruments; troubleshoots problems encountered with test equipment; maintains and makes minor adjustments to equipment; engages in safe work practices and advises supervisor on improvements to test equipment installation, and operation to ensure a safe laboratory operation.

Qualifications and Requirements:  Experience with sample preparation preferred, but not required; education background in a related science field (four-year degree preferred but not required). Working knowledge of windows computer systems and Microsoft office suite programs is needed. Attention to detail, pro-activeness and good communication skills are critical job requirements. Candidates with additional skillsets will be considered for this position at the Scientist I level.
