ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, federal and applicable state laws, standards, and regulations.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Prepare Affirmative Action Plan and files EEO-1 & VETS-100 annually.
  • Monitor and reconcile monthly benefits invoices from TPA's for accuracy and payment submission to finance department.
  • Lead on-boarding and orientation efforts for new hires, including department itineraries.
  • Assist in the employee evaluation and compensation review.
  • Assist in the open enrollment process.
  • Maintain employee handbook, company wide communications, and archives
  • Maintain all confidential employee records, including medical files and scheduled annual drug screens and background screening.
  • Maintain safety related files, including employee's training files.
  • Arrange and communicate annual background and drug screen requirements to impacted employees.
  • Maintain employee job descriptions and essential functions ensuring periodic review by employees and managers with updated signatures on file.
  • Maintain and track the necessary metrics for the employee incentive plan.
  • Participate in preparing annual department budget, including tracking expenses throughout the year.
  • Administer and track employee tuition and fitness reimbursements.
  • Assist in the development of training resources for regulatory compliance, managerial topics, and skill enhancements.
  • Assist in planning in-house and off-site company events.
  • Coordinate and communicate wellness initiatives and newsletters from multiple TPA's company wide.
  • Maintain and develop department processes.
  • Assist and support recruiting efforts such as contacting candidates and coordinating interview schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources or HR Designation and at least 3 years' experience OR Associates Degree with 6 years related experience
  • Valid Driver License
  • Flexibility for travel as necessary, less than 25%.

*Potential hybrid position - 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, office located in Monroe Michigan.
