Role and Responsibilities

The main goal of CAE Mirabel is to provide the Canadian Armed Forces with the Armament and Mission Computer software for the CF-18 Fighter aircraft

Summary of the job

As a Software Specialist, you will mainly develop software using APEX, Java and C# object oriented language using PL/SQL and Oracle database in our work environment based on the Agile-SCRUM methodology.

Your Challenges

  • Develop and maintain software required by the CF-18 fighter aircraft software development team

  • Develop and maintain software for project management.

  • Be involved in the definition of technical requirements and design of the various software components, and in the support to the user’s community.

  • Participate in all the software life cycle development steps: design, development, integration, tests et software release.

  • Work within a team of dynamic people and be involved in all phases of software development. To integrate the new functionalities, you will need to understand the architecture of the software component included.

    Your Strengths

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or a related field.

  • Experience in software development, an asset.

  • Master the following computer languages: C# or Java.

  • Experience in PL/SQL, APEX and Oracle database

  • Experience in Perl language (an asset).

  • Experience with IBM Rational DOORS (an asset).

  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact with different multidisciplinary groups.

  • Fluency in English and French.

    Operational requirements

  • CAE employees must be able to meet the requirements of the Canada Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and in certain cases, ITAR requirements. ​

  • Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.

  • Main work location is not accessible via public transportation. A car is needed.

  • Work will be performed in virtual mode, 80% work from home and the rest in CAE Mirabel office.
